Job Title: Assembler
Location: Morgan City LA 70380
Duration: 12+ Months
Shift Details: 4 - 12 hr shift - 1 weekend every other week - rare situations where overnight is required and there is a shift differential for $2/hr for these instances

Summary:
Certifications Required - Fall protection, overhead crane, forklift (if from industry recognized certification)

Must have steel toed lace up boots. Hard hard, safety glasses provided
Potential to convert to FTE.

Job Summary
The Assembler disassembles, assembles, and tests various drilling equipment safely and in a timely manner.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Performs required assembly tasks with little or no supervision
  • Removes small quantities of metal to clean parts or to produce close fit between parts
  • Uses SAP R3 to pull prints, check labor hours on work orders, and pull and print bills of material
  • Reviews routings and clearly understands the requirements
  • Plans assembly procedures following specifications
  • Cleans and deburrs materials
  • Drills and taps holes
  • Reads and comprehends blueprints
  • Assists in rigging when necessary
  • Works in accordance with the work schedule set forth by the supervisor, which includes weekends and holidays when deemed necessary
  • Performs all tasks in the safest manner possible to ensure that there is no damage to equipment or personnel
  • Follows all HSE and Quality processes
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • 1+ years of experience with drilling equipment
  • Must be mechanically adept

  • Able to traverse ladders, stairs, gangways, and scaffolding at varying heights
  • Excellent balance to traverse and negotiate uneven surfaces at varying heights
  • Operate motor vehicles with a valid driver's license
  • Handle and operate hand tools weighing up to 25 pounds with a pinch or trigger grip of 15 pounds

  • Climb up and down ladder
  • Handle materials with hands (bolts, nuts, and hand tools)
  • Lift 50 pounds from floor to waist
