PGS Worldwide is seeking a Manufacturing Assembly Technician in Owego, NY for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.
The Manufacturing Assembly Technician will perform hands-on production assembly work on electronic and mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables. This role is best suited for someone with manufacturing, construction, build, auto body, metal bonding, composite bonding, or hands-on fabrication experience using tools like drills, grinders, routers, jigs, saws, and other hand or power tools.
Required Skills
- Previous manufacturing experience.
- Hands-on construction, build, fabrication, or auto body experience preferred over soldering experience.
- Experience using hand tools and power tools such as drills, grinders, routers, jigs, and saws.
- Ability to work from diagrams, drawings, specifications, and layouts.
- Ability to perform repetitive and non-repetitive production assembly operations.
- Ability to assemble electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies.
- Ability to perform continuity checks on work in process and completed assemblies.
- Ability to support quality inspections in accordance with quality specifications.
- Ability to disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test assemblies and subassemblies.
- Willingness to train in metal bonding and composite bonding.

- Metal bonding experience.
- Composite bonding experience.
- Auto body repair or body shop experience.
- Construction, mechanical build, fabrication, or structural assembly experience.
- Experience working with modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, cables, prototype assemblies, or experimental assemblies.
- Experience with rework, modification, inspection, and testing.
What You’ll Do
- Perform production assembly operations on electronic and mechanical assemblies and subassemblies.
- Assemble modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, cables, and related components.
- Work from diagrams, drawings, layouts, and specifications.
- Use hand tools, power tools, jigs, saws, drills, grinders, routers, and related production tools.
- Make initial layouts for assembly work.
- Perform continuity checks during production and on completed work.
- Conduct quality inspections on the processing line as required.
- Disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies.
- Support metal bonding and composite bonding work after training, as needed.
