PGS Worldwide is seeking an Assembler in Owego, NY for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.
The Assembler will perform production assembly work on electronic and mechanical assemblies and subassemblies, including modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables. This 2nd shift role requires hands-on soldering, mechanical assembly, bonding, and wiring experience.
Required Skills
- 1–2 years of hands-on assembly experience.
- Soldering experience.
- Mechanical assembly or mechanical build experience.
- Bonding experience.
- Wiring experience.
- Ability to work from diagrams and drawings.
- Ability to make initial layouts.
- Ability to use hand tools and/or power tools.
- Ability to perform continuity checks on work in process and completed assemblies.
- Ability to support quality inspections in accordance with specifications.
- Ability to disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test assemblies or subassemblies as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Skills
- Experience assembling electronic or mechanical modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, or cables.
- Experience supporting prototype, experimental, or rework assembly.
- Experience working in aerospace, defense, electronics, manufacturing, or high-reliability production environments.
What You’ll Do
- Perform repetitive and non-repetitive production assembly operations.
- Assemble electronic and mechanical assemblies and subassemblies.
- Work from diagrams, drawings, and specifications.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment.
- Perform soldering, bonding, wiring, and mechanical build tasks.
- Make continuity checks on in-process and completed work.
- Conduct or support quality inspections on the production line.
- Disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test assemblies as required.
- Support experimental or prototype assemblies under simulated conditions as needed.
Work Schedule / Shift
- 2nd shift.
- Monday–Thursday, 3:30 PM–1:30 AM.
