Job Description:
The Coil Preparation Associate supports the final stages of coil building and testing by preparing coils to meet defined quality and performance specifications.
This role plays an important part in ensuring products are built safely, efficiently, and to required standards within a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
Follow all safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of required personal protective equipment.
Bend, shape, cut, and solder wires and lugs according to specifications.
Attach wires using lugs and crimps to ensure proper connections.
Sand wires as part of the preparation and finishing process.
Pull lead wires and apply sleeving as required.
Operate pneumatic and hydraulic crimping tools safely and effectively.
Use lift assistance devices when handling products weighing more than 50 pounds.
Participate in physical inventory activities as needed.
Meet established efficiency, quality, and productivity standards.
Maintain 6S and Lean Manufacturing standards within the work area.
Perform additional or modified duties as business needs evolve.
Must have:
The ability to read and interpret specifications, plans, drawings, shop aids, and work instructions.
The ability to solder and perform detailed hand assembly work.
The ability to stand or walk for extended periods and perform repetitive hand motions.
The ability to manually handle up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally, with lift or push/pull assistance.
The ability to work in small or narrow spaces and perform occasional bending, stooping, and reaching.
