This job requisition is for a new role at the San Jose site. This requisition is for Assembler/Solder S3. This position will report to Bobby Kamal Tiwana. This position is regular, Full-Time, non-exempt, onsite. The starting hourly range will be $28.85/hr - $38.46/hr ($60,000.00 - $80,000.00/annually). The actual salary will depend on experience and background of the candidate selected.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Typically requires a minimum of 2 - 4 years of related experience, preferably in electronics or PCB assembly • High school diploma or equivalent • IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001 certification

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Shop floor environment / workbench or workstation • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time • Ability to perform repetitive motion (rotating wrist, using hand tools)

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

The Manufacturing Assembler is responsible for assembling and soldering electronic components and assemblies in a fast-paced, high reliability manufacturing environment. This role supports daily production hardware, new product introductions (NPI), and engineering prototyping activities. The operator must be able to read and follow work instructions, detailed manufacturing drawings, wiring diagrams, and workmanship standards to ensure product quality and performance. Work is performed primarily under a microscope and requires precision hand soldering. Assembler must be able to operate hand tools including soldering irons, tweezers, torque wrenches, wire strippers, crimps and cutters. Position requires the ability to build both basic and complex assemblies in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• As a skilled specialist, completes tasks in resourceful and effective ways, leveraging in depth experience • Works on assignments requiring judgment and initiative • Understands implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions • Assembles PCB based products, sub-assemblies and enclosures in accordance with work instructions, bill of materials (BOM), drawings, and industry standards • Precision soldering and small components handling in an electronics manufacturing environment • Proven experience in soldering and reworking PCB assemblies • Working knowledge of IPC standards (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001) • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills • Experience working in a high-mix, low-to-medium volume manufacturing • Performs in-process inspections as required • Follows ESD (electrostatic discharge) and FOD (foreign object debris) protocols and maintains detailed documentation and compliance records • Encounters problems which are varied and non-routine • Impact is short term (typically limited to one year) • Scope of impact will be at the department and/or team level • Work may also impact related activities outside of own work team and/or department • Financial accountability is typically confined to proactive management of cost within the project/team • Determines methods and procedures on new assignments • May be informal team leader via coaching / mentoring more junior employees without direct supervisory responsibilities • Interprets or explains data or information to deliver messages; audience may not be knowledgeable about the subject matter • Willingness to support flexible schedules as needed to support production and engineering builds • Other duties as assigned
