Pay: Starting rate at $23.00-$28.00 per hour

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Assembler to perform a variety of tasks associated with the rebuilding and assembly of Gas End compressors. This position is responsible for ensuring all parts fit correctly, meet quality standards, and are suitable for the final product.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, excellent manual dexterity, and the ability to interpret and follow instructions from manuals, drawings, blueprints, and schematics with precision. This role also requires the use of computer systems to record safety test data, inspection reports, and production-related information. Assignments may vary based on business needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform repetitive assembly of parts and subassemblies according to established work instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Read, understand, and follow method sheets, assembly diagrams, blueprints, and print drawings
  • Inspect products for quality defects and identify unsafe conditions
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Determine dimensions, materials, and design specifications from technical drawings.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools required for assembly tasks.
  • Use measuring devices such as tape measures and levels to ensure accuracy.
  • Inspect and maintain tools and equipment; submit repair requests as needed.
  • Load and unload materials onto conveyors and carts; operate forklifts and hoists when required.
  • Collaborate with team members and assist in other areas as needed while contributing process improvement ideas.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering, receiving, and stocking supplies.
  • Assemble components by ensuring proper fit and securely fastening parts and subassemblies.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties within the work area.
  • Complete production-related tasks including pipe bending, sledging, press operation, hanging and unhanging parts, and conducting quality checks and tests.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Team Leader.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

  • Ability to use experience and judgment to plan, prioritize, and accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Willingness and ability to learn and operate equipment associated with the role, including power hand tools, forklifts, aerial lifts (skyjacks), cranes, and measuring devices.
  • Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve routine production issues.
  • Working knowledge of standard work instructions and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Ability to work successfully in a manufacturing environment.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and dependable.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of manufacturing experience.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, including wrenches, sockets, hammers, tape measures, crimpers, cutters, and steel banding tools.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Experience using power tools safely and effectively.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to navigate computer systems.

Travel & Work Arrangement:

  • This position is based on site in Sidney, Ohio.

  • No regular travel is required unless otherwise specified.
