Description

The Assembler performs a variety of logistics and assembly functions.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Good hand/eye coordination. Ability to handle small components with ease and perform neat work.
  • Ability to read/follow detailed written/oral instructions.
  • Ability to accurately record daily activity and/or specific observations.
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision when given proper instruction.
  • Possess basic computer skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Be punctual, have a good work attitude, and work cooperatively with others in the department and company.
  • Accept and benefit from constructive criticism.
  • Any other relevant equivalent combination of training and experience.


Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

NOTE Employees may perform any or all of the tasks described below:
  1. Prepares components for assembly. Trims component leads, bends component leads, assembles heat sink and voltage regulator subassemblies and other component prep operations.
  2. Manually inserts components into printed circuit boards.
  3. Performs final assembly of products.
  4. Performs final test of products.
  5. Packages products as per instructions in shipping/storage containers.
  6. Works from prints, drawings, samples and written procedures.
  7. Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
  8. Performs all work in a manner that provides for the safety and health of self and other manufacturing personnel.
  9. Works from Bill of Materials, utilizing all error proof procedures when available.
  10. Meets work quotas while conforming to DMP quality standards.
  11. Observes and adheres to DMP Classification Standard.
  12. Observes company policies. Continuously strives to find processes that create improved efficiency while maintaining conformance to requirements. Acknowledges responsibility to satisfy the customer, reduce cycle time and eliminate waste.
  13. May perform related duties or fill in for others in the department or other departments when requested. May train or instruct fellow workers regarding own duties.
