About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Truss Assembler to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for assembling wooden trusses used in residential and commercial construction projects, including roof and floor systems. This is a hands-on position in a fast-paced shop environment where quality, safety, and teamwork are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble trusses according to design plans and work orders
- Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and instructions
- Select and position plates, ensuring correct size and placement
- Measure, cut, and adjust materials for proper fit
- Organize and stage materials (webs, lumber, components) for production
- Perform quality checks on raw materials and finished products
- Restock materials and maintain organized work areas
- Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and workspace
- Follow OSHA regulations and company safety procedures
- Wear required PPE at all times (safety glasses, ear protection, gloves)
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- At least 6 months of experience with building materials (construction, retail, or similar) preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and follow instructions
- Basic math skills
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Basic computer skills (MS Office and general use)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs (team lifting required for heavier items)
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and repetitive motion
- Ability to climb, kneel, crouch, and reach overhead
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing/shop environment with noise and dust
- Capable of working extended periods on your feet
Work Environment
- Primarily indoor shop setting with some exposure to outdoor temperatures
- Frequent exposure to noise, dust, and machinery
- Safety-focused workplace with required PPE
