POSITION SUMMARY: Function within the Assembly department to produce product to customer specifications in a safe, timely and productive manner. • Level 1: Assemble components to specifications with full supervision. • Level II: Assemble components to specifications with minimal supervision. • Level III: Initiate, act, or lead individuals or groups in process improvement and waste reduction projects using research data and analytical tools. No supervision necessary. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Work safely, promote safety, and abide by all safety rules. (All) • Inspect, test, and adjust completed units to ensure that units meet specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements. (All) • Assemble parts or units, and position, align, and fasten units to assemblies or subassemblies, using hand tools and power tools. (All) • Position, align, and adjust parts for proper fit and assembly. (All) • Connect wires, hoses, and tubing, according to specifications. (All) • Attach name or serial plates and mark identifying information on parts or on data sheets. (All) • Read blueprints and specifications to determine component parts and assembly sequences of electromechanical units. (All) • Assemble units or components and prepare them for shipping. (All) • Measure or test parts and assemblies to determine performance, using measuring instruments such as verniers, gauges, rulers, or meters. (All) • Notifies supervisor of parts or assemblies not meeting specifications. Provides feedback to supervisor, Engineering as to fit, tolerance, appearance or questionable procedures and practices. (All) • Trains personnel as assigned in all areas of accountability. Instruct, teach, and check for understanding when teaching others how to perform task. (II, III only) • Communicates technical, production, quality, safety, and inventory concerns to the appropriate resource. (All) • Actively initiate and conduct problem solving to affect productivity and quality improvements. (III only) • Clocking in and out in GSS. (All) • Finding blueprints that were linked in GSS. (All)
