    Job Description

    Job Summary: Responsible for overseeing the hourly cell operations and execution of the assembly team, ensuring efficiency and safe production of products. The role involves ensuring quality control, maintaining cell schedules and addressing any issues that arise during production.

    1st Priority - Daily Execution

    • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
    • Organize and plan line execution to meet SQDC goals
    • Prepare work to be accomplished by following assembly instructions, part lists, gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials (1st/Last piece, labels, scrap sheets, documentation)
    • Ensure components are assembled throughout the zone by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies
    • Deliver to customer expectations by training and enforcing Assembly and Quality standards
    • When I can't follow standardized work, stop and escalate to Material Handling, Mfg. Engineering, or Team Leader
    • Follow TQC's and verifies

    2nd Priority - Skill Development

    • Train new associates on J.W. Speaker onboarding process, new standards, and equipment
    • Explain and mentor associates in proper preparation of work and to assemble components following standards and procedures
    • Encourage collaboration and gain trust/support of peers to drive action to improve cell performance
    • Assist associates with non-conforming parts & in the calibration of quality standards to customer expectations
    • Work with Team Leader to document individual skills via Skills Matrix process

    3rd Priority - Continuous Improvement

    • Surface problems hindering cell metrics and performance
    • Utilize PDCA (Plan Do Check Adjust) logic to provide effective solutions to problems, assist team members to identify waste and facilitate improvements
    • Follow 5s standards everywhere - including cafeteria, bathrooms, parking lot, etc.
    • Explain the importance of group metrics and performance

    Education

    • High school Diploma or GED

    Experience

    • 1-5 years previous manufacturing experience preferred
    • Well-rounded mechanical ability
    • Willingness to participate in continuous learning opportunities
    • Ability to teach, coach, & mentor team members on solving problems
