POSITION OVERVIEW
As an Assembly/Harnessing Technicianyour roles and responsibilities will include:
The client is seeking an experienced Assembly/Harnessing Technician to join its Manufacturing Assembly and Test team in Chatsworth, CA. This is a fully onsite position supporting the assembly and testing of high-reliability aerospace and defense products.
The technician will work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Product Engineering teams to assemble, solder, crimp, repair, test, and troubleshoot complex electronic and mechanical assemblies.
Key Responsibilities- Assemble high-reliability chassis and final assemblies using circuit cards, standoffs, wire harnesses, solder and crimping techniques.
- Perform high-reliability soldering and crimping on complex electronic and mechanical assemblies.
- Repair circuit boards, jumper wires, and wire harnesses.
- Read and interpret assembly drawings, engineering documentation, parts lists, worksheets, and test specifications.
- Follow applicable Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) procedures.
- Perform running harnessing and work with motion-control pointing mechanisms as required.
- Work with Product Engineering to diagnose issues and determine appropriate rework for complex assemblies.
- Collaborate with Engineering to improve testing procedures and manufacturing processes.
- Clean components to required cleanliness standards.
- Maintain traceability records, MDC forms, and configuration records.
- Repair units alongside normal production activities.
- Travel to customer facilities occasionally to service company hardware, if required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Most importantly, you need to be a passionate Assembly/Harnessing Technician who enjoys his work and is considered to be one of the best within your organization. The ideal Assembly/Harnessing Technician would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:
Required Qualifications- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years of electrical assembly experience.
- 5+ years of soldering experience.
- Experience working in a highly regulated manufacturing environment, such as aerospace, defense, medical devices, or FDA-regulated manufacturing.
- J-STD solder certification is REQUIRED.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and written instructions.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative manufacturing team.
Preferred Qualifications- Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience.
- NASA solder certification.
- Experience with wire harnessing and crimping.
- Circuit board repair experience.
- Experience with complex electronic and mechanical assemblies.
- Experience working directly with engineering teams.
- High-reliability manufacturing experience.
