Assembly Operator
Pay rate: $18.76 - $21.00 per hour depending on experience
One position is available on either 2nd shift or 3rd shift. 2nd shift hours are 2:48 PM to 11:18 PM, and the 3rd shift hours are 10:48 PM to 7:18 AM.
Training will occur during the 1st shift, from 6:48 AM to 3:18 PM.
Summary: A successful Assembly Operator II can safely and with advanced efficiency assemble products that meet all quality requirements. This position is an hourly, non-exempt position and reports to the Production Planner Supervisor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interpret work orders, engineering drawings, and specifications.
- Tear down and clean customer RMA's.
- Use the parts list and retrieve all the parts needed to assemble the order.
- Depending on the size and weight of the item to be assembled, use a proper lifting method.
- Continually inspect products and processes throughout assembly.
- Inspect and test the final assembly to ensure it meets specifications.
- Cross-train with other assembler team members.
- Adhere to specific procedures and production schedules to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of a high school degree or equivalent certification.
- Minimum of 3 years of mechanical assembly experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Team player mentality.
- Basic crane and forklift experience.
- Assembly blueprint reading skills.
- Capable of understanding and following written and verbal work instructions.
- Understanding of BOM's (bills of materials).
- Basic knowledge of inventory systems.
- Ability to communicate with and work closely with others, including quality and production control.
- Troubleshooting capabilities.
- Ability to inspect work and meet quality expectations.
- Ability to identify and share process improvement ideas,a lean thinker.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is helpful.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
