    Job Description

    Under the general supervision of the Plant Manager, the Assembly Supervisor oversees coordinating the scheduling of assembly lines with Production Scheduler; setting up equipment, training setup, sample, and operator personnel; modifying bills of materials/routers (methods of assembly/manufacturing) for routing changes after initial routings are created; and ensures compliance with quality and safety protocols. Essentially, they are responsible for the efficient and safe functioning of the assembly lines and the team that performs setting up equipment for assembly employees.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    · Supervising and coordinating the activities of setup and sample personnel involved in assembly line setup and operation.

    · Setting up assembly lines according to established procedures and specifications.

    · Identifying and resolving established procedures and specifications.

    · Ensure the appropriate equipment and supplies are available to run all assembly jobs (work orders) by coordinating with the Production Scheduler.

    · Providing guidance, training, and support to setup, sample, and operator personnel on proper assembly machine setup, operation, and maintenance required while operating the assembly lines.

    · Evaluating employee performance, providing feedback, and addressing performance issues to ensure compliance with company work rules.

    · Ensuring adherence to safety regulations and protocols per company policies.

    · Examining assembly documentation such as jobs (work orders), blueprints, BOM/Routers and setup/operator instructions to ensure assembly specifications are met to meet customer requirements.

    · Monitoring assembly operations to ensure adherence to quality control standards.

    · Working with production planners, engineers, and other departments to optimize assembly processes.

    · Maintaining accurate records of assembly line setup.

    Employment Requirements:

    Education: High school diploma or equivalent, with technical degree preferred.

    Knowledge:

    · Strong knowledge of assembly processes, equipment operation, and maintenance procedures.

    · Ability to identify and resolve technical issues with machinery and equipment.

    · Deep understanding of safety protocols and regulations in a assembly environment.

    Skills:

    · Effectively communicate with team members, other departments and management.

    · Ability to motivate, guide, and develop a team of setup/sample personnel.

    · Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    · Basic computer skills of using a personal computer, email, utilizing software to capture production data and MS Office products Word and Excel.
