Assembly Technician - 2nd Shift

Work Schedule: 2nd Shift — Monday-Thursday 4pm-2:30am

Shift Premium: Additional $1.50 for each hour worked on 2nd shift

SUMMARY

The Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling small and large components and finished products according to engineering drawings, customer specifications, and work orders. This role requires the safe and effective use of hand tools and power tools while maintaining high standards for quality, productivity, and safety. The technician works both independently and collaboratively to support efficient production and on-time delivery.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary Functions

• Assemble small and large parts and components according to blueprints, work instructions, and customer specifications.

• Operate hand tools, power tools, and spot-welding equipment safely and effectively.

• Spot weld frames and components according to blueprint specifications.

• Verify parts and materials prior to assembly to ensure accuracy and readiness for production.

• Perform repetitive assembly tasks while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards.

• Inspect assembled components for quality, accuracy, and proper fit to ensure they meet customer and company requirements.

• Maintain acceptable levels of productivity, quality, and attendance while following established processes and procedures.

• Report any defects, equipment issues, or safety hazards to the supervisor.

• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding production needs, issues, or improvement opportunities.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

• Work effectively both independently and as part of a team to meet production goals.

• Promote teamwork and contribute to a positive and respectful workplace culture.

• Support continuous improvement efforts to improve efficiency, safety, and product quality.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong attention to detail, safety, and quality.

• Physical stamina to perform manual tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods of time.

• Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints or assembly instructions preferred.

• Mechanical aptitude with strong attention to detail.

• Ability to stand for 10–12 hours per shift and lift up to 50 pounds on a continuous basis.

• Strong work ethic and willingness to support team success across departments.

• 1-2 years previous assembly experience preferred.
