We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Assembly Technician to join our growing operations team. This role is responsible for assembling, testing, and troubleshooting robotic systems and subassemblies used in our warehouse automation solutions.

The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and electrical assembly skills, experience working with electromechanical equipment, and a commitment to quality and safety. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring our robotic systems are built to specification and ready for deployment to customer sites.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assembly & Integration
•    Assemble robotic systems, including mechanical structures, electrical components, wiring harnesses, sensors, controllers, and electromechanical subassemblies.
•    Build and integrate robot modules, charging systems, lift mechanisms, drive assemblies, and other automation equipment according to engineering specifications.
•    Perform mechanical assembly operations, including fastening, torqueing, drilling, tapping, and component alignment.
•    Install, route, terminate, and secure electrical wiring and cable assemblies.

Technical Interpretation & Documentation
•    Read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, assembly instructions, schematics, and bills of materials (BOMs).
•    Document assembly activities, quality inspections, test results, and production records as required.

Quality, Testing & Troubleshooting
•    Inspect assemblies to verify quality, fit, form, and function.
•    Conduct functional testing and quality checks of robotic systems and subsystems.
•    Diagnose and resolve assembly-related mechanical and electrical issues.

Tools, Safety & Compliance
•    Operate hand tools, power tools, torque tools, crimpers, wire strippers, multimeters, and other assembly equipment safely and effectively.
•    Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company safety standards.
•    Follow all OSHA regulations, company safety procedures, ISO standards, and PPE requirements.

Production Support & Continuous Improvement
•    Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve assembly processes, quality, and efficiency.
•    Assist with packaging, material handling, inventory transactions, and preparation of equipment for shipment as needed.
•    Support the production team in meeting daily output, quality, and delivery objectives.
•    Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Education
•    High school diploma or GED required or higher.

Required Experience
•    3+ years of experience in mechanical, electrical, electromechanical, robotics, manufacturing, or industrial equipment assembly.
•    Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and assembly documentation.
•    Ability to assemble mechanical and electrical systems using hand and power tools.
•    Experience with wiring, cable routing, crimping, connector installation, and electrical component assembly.
•    Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
•    Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
•    Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred
•    Associate degree, technical certification, or vocational training in Electronics, Mechatronics, Robotics, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
•    Experience assembling industrial automation equipment, robotics systems, AGVs, AMRs, conveyors, or material handling equipment.
•    Familiarity with low-voltage electrical systems, sensors, motors, PLCs, and control systems.
•    Experience using testing equipment such as multimeters and diagnostic tools.
•    Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
•    Forklift certification or warehouse equipment experience.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
•     Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift throughout the workday.
•    Ability to lift and move equipment and materials up to 50 pounds.
•    Ability to work with small components requiring manual dexterity and visual inspection.
•    Ability to work safely around mechanical and electrical equipment.
•    Occasional domestic travel up to 10% may be required to support installations, training, or special projects.
