We are currently looking for 5 Assembly Technician IIs & 1 Assembly Technician II - Solder who will work out of our Billerica, MA Manufacturing Center. The position assists manufacturing to meet its continuous improvement goals such as product cost reduction, improvement of overall product quality, reduction of product cycle times, and process validations. The individuals in this position will work with Manufacturing Process engineers. Performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations including working with engineers in set-up as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies. Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process.

Shifts and Schedule

  • 1st Shift Solder Openings: 2 Monday - Thursday, 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM (10hr Shifts)
  • 1st Shift Openings: 2 Monday - Thursday, 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM (10hr Shifts)
  • 2nd Shift Openings: 4 Monday - Thursday, 3:00 PM - 1:30 AM (10hr Shifts)

Main Responsibilities

  • Must be able to understand and communicate work instructions, updates, and issues in English with team members and engineers.
  • Assembling and packaging products.
  • Filling out paperwork for related assemblies and production activity.
  • Communicating discrepancies or potential issues as needed.
  • As necessary, performs other duties as required.
  • Strong understanding of measuring devices, prints, and quality control documents, specifications, and requirements.
  • Strong operation of mechanical, electrical, and optical tools and equipment for quality inspection.
  • May assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process. Works with engineers in conducting experiments.
  • Ensures high quality standards associated with assembly production to manufacture superior medical product assemblies.
  • Uses programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment.
  • Perform operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment or manufacturing process - basic trouble-shooting.
  • Assist in the design, construction, test, and check-out of test equipment.
  • Strong understanding of reports and procedures - keeps excellent records and documentation of activities.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years experience in a related field is required.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Microscope Experience.
  • Ability to follow GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practice) using Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Maintains records and clean room environment to comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Use various measurement devices to record data and produce assemblies to written specifications.
  • Manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, and visual acuity.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Ability to perform repetitive work while paying attention to detail.
  • Maintain product traceability and identification.
  • Identify and segregate Non-Conforming Product.
  • Ability to train other/new associates.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers.
  • Able to work closely with other people.

Soldering Skills

  • Can perform basic soldering jobs.
  • Detail oriented.

Hardware Knowledge

  • Knows how to use DVM, temp meter.
  • Is familiar with Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers, power supplies.

Electronic Skills

  • Has a basic understanding of electricity.

Computer Skills

  • Is familiar with Microsoft Office products.

Additional Desirable Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a Controlled Environment Area.
  • Demonstrated abilities to train other/new operators.

Soldering Candidate Requirements All of the above skills plus:

  • Must be Proficient in:
  • Fine Pitch Solder
  • Through Hole Solder
  • Wire Solder

Compensation

  • Salary Range: $22.00 - $24.00 up to $25 for Soldering Depending on Experience.
