Assembly Technician

This Assembly Technician role supports a growing semiconductor manufacturing operation by assembling, modifying, and inspecting components and equipment according to detailed specifications and industry standards. You will perform hands-on mechanical assembly, use a variety of tools and measuring devices, and follow documented procedures to ensure high-quality, reliable products. This is an entry-level friendly position with training provided, ideal for individuals who enjoy working with their hands, interpreting blueprints, and contributing to a clean, safe, and fast-paced production environment.

• Assemble mechanical and electromechanical components according to shop drawings, blueprints, and documented procedures.
• Apply basic to intermediate knowledge of assembly production processes to complete routine tasks accurately and efficiently.
• Identify parts and assemblies that do not meet industry or company standards through testing and visual inspection throughout the build process.
• Modify various parts using appropriate hand tools and equipment to meet the requirements of each specific build.
• Maintain clear and timely communication with supervisors to support efficient, on-schedule production.
• Complete and submit daily time costing sheet documentation with accurate service, project, and billing information.
• Maintain a professional demeanor at all times to positively represent the company with internal and external stakeholders.
• Follow all applicable safety regulations and consistently wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Clean and organize the work area before leaving each job to support a safe and efficient workplace.
• Attend and actively participate in departmental and company meetings as required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support production and departmental goals.
• Work effectively under direct supervision while following departmental policies and procedures.

• Basic to intermediate knowledge and experience with assembly production processes and tools.
• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and layout diagrams.
• Mechanical and inspection knowledge, including familiarity with mechanical assemblies and quality checks.
• Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively in a production environment.
• Ability to work with measuring devices such as micrometers and other inspection tools.
• Strong visual acuity and manual dexterity for precise assembly and inspection tasks.
• Solid math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and work with fractions.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to established procedures.
• Capability to work under direct supervision and complete routine tasks consistently and accurately.

• High school diploma, GED, or trade school certificate (a trade school certificate may suffice when combined with relevant experience).
• Experience working in a manufacturing, assembly, or cleanroom environment is beneficial.
• Familiarity with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards is an advantage.
• Experience reading and interpreting schematics is helpful.
• Comfort working in a semiconductor or high-technology manufacturing setting.
• Willingness to learn new processes, tools, and technologies through on-the-job training and development programs.

This role is based in a growing manufacturing facility that designs and builds machinery for the semiconductor and related industries. You will work primarily on a first shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The environment includes production floors, assembly areas, and potentially cleanroom spaces, where you will use hand tools, inspection instruments such as micrometers, and other standard manufacturing equipment. Work is performed under direct supervision and follows established departmental policies and procedures. Safety is a priority, and you will follow all safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. The facility promotes a clean and organized workspace, and you will be expected to maintain a tidy work area at the end of each job.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Malden, NY.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
