Assembly Technician

Job Description

The Assembly Technician fabricates and assembles composite building components used as infrastructure in data centers, generator farms, and other industrial environments. This role focuses on precise assembly of rails, stairs, and treads, using hand and power tools, measurement instruments, and blueprint specifications to produce high-quality custom components in a modern, organized facility. Responsibilities

• Assemble rails, stairs, and treads for walkways according to detailed specifications.
• Use clips, bolts, nuts, brackets, and other hardware to securely fasten components.
• Measure and align parts accurately using a tape measure, ruler, and speed square.
• Read and interpret blueprints to determine build specifications, dimensions, and assembly sequence.
• Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently during assembly tasks.
• Use electric and air-powered tools to cut, drill, fasten, and finish components.
• Operate miter saws and band saws to cut materials to precise lengths and angles.
• Enter lengths and dimensions into computer-controlled tools for automated measuring and cutting.
• Apply glue and adhesives to bond parts where required and ensure proper curing.
• Support CNC cutting operations by preparing materials, monitoring processes, and assisting with setup.
• Train over time on additional CNC operation tasks to expand capabilities and responsibilities.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are used and stored properly.
• Stand and move throughout the production area for the duration of the shift to complete assembly tasks.

Essential Skills

• Proficient use of tape measures and rulers for accurate measurement and layout.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and build specifications.
• Hands-on experience using common hand tools in an assembly or fabrication setting.
• Experience using power tools, including electric and air-powered tools.
• Capability to operate miter saws and band saws or similar cutting equipment.
• Comfort working on your feet throughout the shift in a production environment.
• Strong drive to learn new skills and a desire to continually develop in custom fabrication.
• Attention to detail to ensure precise cuts, accurate assembly, and quality workmanship.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with custom fabrication is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with CNC cutting operations or willingness to train on CNC equipment.
• Ability to work second shift hours consistently.
• Comfort working with composite building materials or in similar manufacturing environments.

Work Environment

This role operates in an organized, climate-controlled production environment focused on composite building materials. The facility maintains a clean and orderly workspace, and while the bay doors often remain open during the summer for ventilation, which can make it warmer, the area is not dirty. You work on your feet for the entire shift, moving between workstations, tools, and equipment. You regularly use hand tools, power tools, miter saws, band saws, and computer-assisted measuring systems, and you support CNC cutting operations within a modern fabrication setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Miamisburg, OH.

The pay range for this position is $24.25 - $24.25/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Miamisburg,OH.
