SUMMARY
The Assembly Technician - Lasers is primarily responsible for configuring, calibrating, and testing lasers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Configure, calibrate, and evaluate Lasers, assemble Focusing Heads check working distance.
• Build a varied range of precision electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Build, wire-up and test semi-automated, single-operator materials processing workstations.
• Able to train/mentor new employees. Work with and train customers and service engineers.
• Provide feedback to engineering on current and new designs.
• Other projects and tasks as assigned by the Company from time to time.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
• Read schematic and wiring diagrams.
• Professional soldering and wiring.
• Design and build wire harnesses.
• Must know electronic hardware like terminal blocks, connectors, panel components, switches, controls, indicators, panel meters – things found on industrial equipment.
• Light machining (i.e.) drilling holes in sheet metal to mount components.
• PC computer software and hardware troubleshooting
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• 2-year electronics technical degree or equivalent trade school certificate and experience
• 2 – 5 years' experience in building and testing one-of-a-kind custom equipment
• Built, wired up and evaluated semi-custom products with stepper motors, servo systems and related.

• Worked of wiring diagrams.
• Worked out minor implementation changes on the fly to expedite, build and evaluate.
• Specified electronic control items like switches, indicators, terminal blocks from standard supply houses like Graingers, McMaster-Carr, Newark, etc.
• Responsible for meeting time and cost budgets for his/her own work.
• Demonstrated initiative in getting things done to support the group's business goals.
• Understands AMADA WELD TECH INC.'s basic philosophy and participates fully in conducting its mission.
