Van-Am Tool & Engineering is seeking an Assembly Technician to join our growing manufacturing team in St. Joseph, Missouri. This position offers a 4-day work week (Monday-Thursday), competitive pay of $22.00-$23.00 per hour depending on experience, and the opportunity to build a long-term career in manufacturing.
The Assembly Technician performs hand assembly of small parts and subassemblies, precision deburring using air grinders and hand tools, and operates precision blasting equipment to prepare parts for additional manufacturing processes or shipment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys detailed work, takes pride in quality, and wants to be part of a team that supports critical manufacturing operations.
Perform hand assembly of components and subassemblies according to work instructions and drawings.
Complete precision deburring using air grinders, hand tools, and abrasive equipment.
Operate precision blasting equipment to clean and finish parts.
Inspect parts throughout the assembly and finishing process to ensure quality standards are met.
Use measuring and inspection tools to verify conformance to specifications.
Package, label, and prepare completed products for shipment or additional manufacturing operations.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
Support production schedules and assist in other manufacturing areas as needed.
Previous experience in hand assembly, assembly, fabrication, machining, or manufacturing preferred.
Experience using hand tools, air grinders, and measuring equipment preferred.
Strong attention to detail and quality.
Ability to read and follow work instructions and production documents.
Good manual dexterity and ability to perform repetitive hand assembly tasks.
Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a manufacturing environment.
$22.00-$23.00 per hour depending on experience
