Clackamas Community College (CCC) seeks to hire an Assessment and Placement Assistant. This is a part-time, non-union, non-exempt, and non-benefits-eligible position. This position is responsible for assisting with testing and placement services as a front counter presence and support for test administration activities. As a primary contact for both public and college staff, faculty, and students, this position provides guidance in policy and procedure while monitoring the testing environment and delivering quality customer service.

MINIMUM/MANDATORY EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the duties as described. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be: An Associates degree from an accredited school plus 3 years teaching, training, testing, counseling or customer service experience. A Bachelors degree is preferred.
Ability to exemplify traits that reflect the College's culture, including integrity, a customer service orientation, cultural competency, trustworthiness, flexibility and a willingness to change.
KNOWLEDGE: Experience working with diverse persons, who may speak a language other than English and/or who have significant educational challenges; knowledge of software applications including proficiency in word processing and email as well as basic knowledge of spreadsheet, database, and web-based tools in an office environment.
SKILLS: Be welcoming to visitors and provide exceptional customer service in person and on the phone; demonstrated excellent interpersonal and intercultural skills using tact, patience, and courtesy in an office environment; demonstrated experience establishing and maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships with others; must be dependable, adaptable and reliable.
ABILITIES: Ability to communicate with a diverse population; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; ability to accurately enter data; ability to maintain records with accuracy with excellent attention to detail; ability to organize thoughts and present ideas in a polite and respectful manner; ability to read, interpret, and understand student related records and documents; ability to plan, prioritize and organize tasks/workloads; ability to meet deadlines; ability to maintain confidentiality on student records; ability to understand and follow oral and written directions with excellent follow through; ability to handle multiple duties in a busy environment; ability to work independently.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF POSITION:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, bend, kneel, stoop, communicate, reach and manipulate objects. The position requires mobility. Duties involve moving materials weighing up to 5 pounds on a regular basis such as files, books, office equipment, etc., occasionally require moving materials weighing up to 60 pounds, and may rarely require moving materials weighing over 60 pounds. Manual dexterity and coordination are required more than 50% of the work period while operating equipment such as an automobile, computer keyboard, calculator, and standard office equipment.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Usual office working conditions. The noise level in the work area is typical of most office environments with telephones, personal interruptions, and background noises.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervision of other personnel is not a typical function assigned to this position. May provide training and orientation to newly assigned personnel, and may assign work to student workers.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Works under the direction of Administrative/Professional personnel.
