Job Summary
The Department of Education at the University of Michigan- Flint (UM-Flint) is conducting a research project funded by the Institute of Education Sciences. We are observing the quality of mathematical instruction of the graduates from our teacher education program. This information will be used to better understand what supports they still need as they enter their first classroom as a professional.
The Department of Education at UM-Flint is seeking Part-time Assessors to administer math assessments to PreK-2nd grade students. Assessors will be responsible for managing assessment materials, communicating appropriately with school staff, and administering math assessments one-on-one to PreK-2nd grade students in Flint and surrounding areas.
Assessors will work from mid-September through October in Fall 2026; mandatory training will take place in late July/early August. Work hours will be during the school day (Monday-Friday between 8:30am and 3:30pm). Schedule flexibility is available. You will be compensated for training hours and will incur no fee for the certification process.

Onsite
The work requires, or the supervisor approves a fully onsite presence. Onsite is defined as a designated U-M owned or leased work location within or outside of the State of Michigan
Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.
Work Schedule
Assessors must be available for school visits between 8:30am and 3:30pm on weekdays. Assessors who are available five days a week will be given priority in hiring, but UM-Flint may also hire assessors who are available fewer days per week as necessary.

Job openings are posted for a minimum of three calendar days. The review and selection process may begin as early as the fourth day after posting.
