Asset Management Analyst
CAHEC is a community investment organization that strengthens communities by
providing affordable housing and supportive service initiatives to residents in the Southeast
and Mid-Atlantic regions. CAHEC engages in diverse product areas, including low-income
housing tax credits, historic tax credits, new markets tax credits, and renewable energy
credits. Additionally, CAHEC offers loan programs, wellness and education initiatives for
residents, affordable housing development, and property management services.
The Asset Management Analyst manages portfolio data to facilitate interdepartmental
reporting processes, to support the asset management team, to meet stakeholder
requirements, and to respond to ad hoc requests for analysis. Some of the primary duties
of this position include ongoing maintenance of CAHEC’s database, the ability to create
and utilize outputs (customized and recurrent reports), and to analyze and present
investment performance data.
Some specific functions include:
• Track, review, input and update investment operational and financial data into
CAHEC’s database and applicable spreadsheets.
• Maintain accurate partner contact information in CAHEC’s database including
property managers, general partners, and accountants.
• Assist in maintaining the integrity of CAHEC’s database by developing and
executing quality control processes and procedures.
• Provide portfolio and investment analyses and other reports in response to
requests from senior management, Board of Directors and external parties.
• Track the collection of year-end deliverables, including tax returns, audits, work
papers and other documentation.
Education Requirement
Associate’s degree in business management, business administration, accounting,
finance, real estate, information technology, or an equivalent combination of education
and comparable work experience.
Work Experience
Minimum Two (2) years of analyst experience from any financial service, accounting or real
estate organization.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
This position requires database administration experience and a general understanding of real estate, financing, management, and basic accounting. The ability to learn and apply knowledge of the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) industry to CAHEC’s investment portfolio is essential.
Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills are required, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities and build effective working relationships. Ability to demonstration intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Smartsheet, and PowerPoint.
Work Environment
This position is classified as hybrid remote and works from both the CAHEC corporate office in Raleigh, NC and a dedicated home office. Travel, typically by either commercial airline or automobile, is required for this position. Certain objectives require traveling to various locations to meet with partners, visiting properties in CAHEC’s investment portfolio, attending industry-related events, and professional training opportunities.
