Our client, a leading institutional real estate investment firm, is looking to add an Asset Manager to its Detroit-based team. This individual will be responsible for driving the performance of a diversified portfolio spanning industrial, multifamily, office, retail, hospitality, self-storage, student housing, manufactured housing, and other commercial real estate investments.

Working alongside acquisitions, property management, leasing, and executive leadership, the Asset Manager will be responsible for developing and executing business plans, optimizing portfolio performance, identifying value creation opportunities, and supporting strategic investment decisions across the portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Manage the financial and operational performance of a diversified real estate portfolio.
• Develop and implement asset-level strategies focused on maximizing value and investment returns.
• Oversee annual budgets, forecasts, reporting, and portfolio performance analysis.
• Partner with third-party operators, property managers, and leasing teams to execute business plans.
• Evaluate leasing activity, capital projects, operating results, and market fundamentals.
• Support acquisitions, dispositions, refinancing efforts, and major capital initiatives.
• Prepare investment committee materials, asset reviews, and portfolio reporting for senior leadership.
• Conduct property visits and maintain a thorough understanding of asset and market performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in asset management, acquisitions, investments, or portfolio management.
• Strong understanding of commercial real estate operations and investment fundamentals.
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
• Experience working with institutional-quality real estate investments preferred.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and relationship management abilities.
