Our client is an established, privately held real estate investment, development, and operating company based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The firm owns and operates a high-quality portfolio spanning office, retail, mixed-use, and multifamily assets.

Position Overview

The Asset Manager will oversee a portfolio of commercial real estate assets with responsibility for maximizing property performance, identifying operational opportunities, and driving long-term value.

This is a highly visible, hands-on asset management role requiring someone who can operate at both the strategic and property level. The Asset Manager will work closely with senior leadership, property management, leasing teams, brokers, and other external partners to execute asset-level business plans.

The ideal candidate brings strong commercial real estate asset management experience across office, retail, and/or mixed-use properties. Experience working with institutional investors or capital partners is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the performance of a diversified portfolio of office, retail, and mixed-use properties.
• Develop and execute strategic business plans for individual assets.
• Work closely with property management, leasing teams, brokers, and other partners on occupancy, leasing, tenant issues, capital projects, rollover, and vacancies.
• Review and analyze property-level financial performance, including NOI, budgets, forecasts, leasing activity, and variance analysis.
• Identify opportunities to increase revenue, control expenses, and improve overall asset performance.
• Evaluate leasing strategies, capital expenditures, and property-level investment decisions.
• Prepare asset performance reporting and recommendations for senior leadership and ownership.
• Support refinancing, recapitalization, and disposition initiatives as needed.
• Monitor loan covenants, regulatory requirements, and applicable investor reporting obligations.
• Track market conditions and competitive properties to inform leasing, redevelopment, and investment strategies.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• 5+ years of commercial real estate asset management experience, ideally involving office, retail, and/or mixed-use assets.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience managing property-level performance and executing asset business plans.
• Strong financial modeling, analytical, and Excel skills.
• Experience evaluating NOI, leasing activity, capital expenditures, budgets, forecasts, and property-level performance.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial ownership environment.
• Ability to work on-site five days per week in Palo Alto.

Preferred

• Experience working with institutional investors or capital partners.
• Experience preparing institutional-quality asset and investor reporting.
• Familiarity with Argus Enterprise.
• MBA or advanced degree in Finance, Real Estate, or a related discipline.
