What does a Silvi Materials Assets and Environmental Tech do?
The Assets & Environmental Tech is responsible for assigned aspects of assets and environmental concerns for his/her assigned plants. This individual is a strategic partner in achieving departmental initiatives to maintain an industry-leading fleet and environmental program. This position is under the direct supervision of the Assets and Environmental Manager.
•Position Essential Functions Responsibilities
- Visit and inspect primary assigned plants daily.
Primary plants are 1, 2 and 3, secondary at plant 4. Assist with other plants as assigned.
Diagnose and correct any plant, truck or environmental concerns with minimal impact on production.
Monitor that all plants are being greased, oiled, and lubed properly each week.
Monitor that all trucks are being inspected daily and greased each week.
Escalate issues to Asset Manager immediately as needed.
Coordinate with approved vendors to accomplish needed services.
Pick up and deliver parts from approved vendors to expedite repairs.
Take drivers to and from shops to expedite repairs.
Assist third party vendors with annual stormwater preparations, upkeep and engineer inspections.
Keep vessel inspections up to date.
Keep backflow prevention inspections up to date.
Receive new mixer trucks, process them through PDI service, and perform all internal tasks necessary to get them ready to be placed into service.
Coordinate and oversee the installation, removal, or transportation of all machinery and equipment.
Ensure the management and optimal level of spare parts. Order replacement parts when one is used.
Oversee plant grounds ensuring proper maintenance of security, lighting, landscaping and safety.
Responsible for the physical security of all assigned assets.
Assure TCO trucks are clean and ready for pickup at the agreed day/time.
Assist in the updating, renewal and distribution of all DMV, DOT, DOR, FMCSA regulated licenses, tags, fees, stickers, etc.
Maintain DVIR log supply, assist with proper use of DVIR’s, and facilitate disposal of all DVIRs after 90 days.
Environmental:
Address any issues pertaining to actions or events that affect our environmental compliance with local, City/Town, County, State, Federal rules and regulations
Monitor for discharge and collect samples when appropriate.
Monitor and report any issues with the function of our storm water control measures to the Assets and Environmental Manager.
Monitor and maintain good visible air quality.
Monitor and maintain all “crash carts” are stocked and ready for service without delay.
General:
Communicate daily with Assets and Environmental Manager regarding the issues of the day.
Provide a weekly log of all activities to Asset and Environmental Manger every Friday.
Stay busy, there is always something to do.
Communicate daily with production teams regarding the availability of assets.
Maintain your company vehicle and other equipment in good clean working order.
Assist with the completion of assigned CapEx projects on time and in budget.
Perform any and all duties at the request of the Asset and Environmental Manager.
Assist all other departments as needed.
Environmental Conditions:
Work is performed in all environmental, temperature, and weather conditions. Work day length varies, depending on assignments and weather.
Qualifications
- Valid Drivers License
- Ability to work at 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. but has flexibility for outside and overtime hours as needed
- The successful candidate will have at least a High School education or equivalent, although a college education is preferred.
- This person needs to have excellent and clear communication skills (bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus)
- Be well-organized.
- Have strong customer service skills.
- Dispatching experience is a plus.
- Experience in the concrete/construction industry is also a plus
