Position OverviewWheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a detail-oriented
Assistant Account Manager to support the Marketing & Events team. This role is responsible for executing private events within a designated territory, managing events from proposal through closing, and serving as a primary point of contact for external clients across various industries and market segments.
The ideal candidate has strong reporting, data entry, and Excel skills, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and brings a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients; respond promptly and professionally to inquiries
Negotiate and quote private events; generate invoices and collect payments
Manage event budgets, including catering and audio/visual costs; submit and track invoicing
Maintain accurate and detailed records in the event management system, including contacts, event details, attendance, and revenue
Assist clients with menu selection, space planning, and coordination of food, beverage, room setup, and requested services
Coordinate with internal and external teams on all event logistics, including room layout, menus, service schedules, facilities, equipment, parking, and transportation
Communicate event details clearly to on-site operations teams responsible for execution
Support the Marketing & Events team with database management, market research, and administrative tasks
Own a small territory to negotiate events, generate quotes, invoice, and collect payment
Cultivate relationships with key clients to drive repeat and additional business
Conduct market research to identify and acquire new clients and partnerships
Prospect new business opportunities to expand market reach
Shadow and support Account Managers and Senior Account Managers during PTO and peak seasons
Serve as a resource for Private Event standards, best practices, and Terms & Conditions
Assist with the development and execution of marketing campaigns to generate new business
Contribute ideas to support Marketing & Events strategies and revenue goals
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams including Marketing, Film, IT, Accounting, and Food & Beverage
Maintain a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to ensure exceptional client experiences
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelors degree required
1+ year of experience in event management, marketing, sales, business development, or a related field
Strong experience with reporting, data entry, and Excel
Salesforce and Pardot experience preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
Experience managing events through the full lifecycle and handling multiple events simultaneously
Comfortable working with numbers, metrics, and spreadsheets
General understanding of business operations, forecasting, and financial planning
Proven ability to influence, negotiate, upsell, and cross-sell to maximize revenue
Demonstrated success meeting or exceeding sales goals
Understanding of KPIs and marketing techniques related to event management
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong problem-solving abilities with a creative, continuous-improvement mindset
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Self-starter with a strong work ethic and motivation to identify new business opportunities
