Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Assistant Accountant to serve as the primary and sole accounting professional on-site, responsible for managing all day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. This hands-on role requires a highly self-sufficient and detail-oriented individual who can operate independently while maintaining strong communication with a remote Finance manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
- Assist with the month-end close process, contributing to timely and accurate reporting
- Prepare and maintain trial balances
- Handle accounts payable and receivable processes
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
- Monitor and record daily financial transactions
- Maintain accurate records of inventory-related transactions
- Record and reconcile intercompany transactions accurately and timely
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
Qualifications
Required
- 1-3+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Experience as a sole accountant, full-charge bookkeeper, or in a small-team environment
- Experience with intercompany accounting
- Experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or inventory-based environment
- Experience with NetSuite
Compensation range is between $65-$70K.
