Launch Your Career as a Nursing Home Administrator
Tradewater Health & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a highly motivated, emerging leader to join our team as an Assistant Administrator (Administrator-in-Training) and Social Services Director. This position is designed for individuals who aspire to become Licensed Nursing Home Administrators and want hands-on experience leading a skilled nursing facility.
This is not an internship. The Assistant Administrator serves as a member of the facility leadership team, working directly alongside the Administrator and department heads to gain practical experience in all areas of facility operations.
The successful candidate will participate in a structured leadership development program while actively pursuing Kentucky Long-Term Care Administrator licensure.
What You'll Do
As an Assistant Administrator, you will:
Partner with the Facility Administrator in daily operations
Participate in leadership and department head meetings
Assist with employee relations, recruitment, retention, and staff engagement
Support regulatory compliance and survey readiness efforts
Participate in budget development and financial management processes
Assist with quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
Work closely with nursing, dietary, housekeeping, maintenance, admissions, social services, and business office departments
Lead special projects focused on operational excellence
Develop knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations
Assume increasing leadership responsibilities throughout the program
Own the Social Services and Admissions processes

Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams
Demonstrated problem-solving and organizational abilities
Commitment to obtaining Kentucky Long-Term Care Administrator licensure within one (1) year of hire
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
Preferred
Experience in healthcare, long-term care, human resources, business operations, or management
Department head experience
Skilled nursing facility experience
Experience supervising employees
Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance
Licensure Requirement
An active Nursing Home Administrator license is not required at the time of hire. Candidates selected for this position must actively pursue Kentucky Long-Term Care Administrator licensure and obtain licensure within twelve (12) months of employment. Continued participation in the program requires demonstrated progress toward meeting all licensure requirements.
