Concordia University, Nebraska seeks applications for a full-time faculty position in business.
Position Purpose:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide face-to-face instruction in Business. This is a full-time faculty position with a full-time benefits package. Must be 19 years or older to apply. Status of appointment, academic rank, and salary will be commensurate with academic credentials and experience. All full-time faculty are expected to teach a full-time load of 24 credit hours per academic year. Appointment will begin in December, 2026 to begin teaching in January, 2027. Responsibilities:
- Teach courses, especially accounting, economics, and finance, along with other business courses that best fit the skills and interest of the candidate and the needs of the Department of Business and Concordia University.
- Integrate Christian faith in the classroom in accord with our commitment to Lutheran education.
- Advise and mentor students.
- Participate in marketing and recruitment for the Business program as assigned by the Dean and Department Chair.
- Engage in curriculum development, course and program assessment, departmental activities, community partnerships, and assistance with student recruitment.
- Support the growth of the Department of Business and the University, with innovative ideas, leadership, and assistance in planning and executing strategic initiatives.
- Remain current in areas of teaching responsibilities.
- Work with colleagues from multiple departments in service to the university.
Qualifications:
Education-
- PhD preferred. A Master's degree or higher in Business, or a Master's degree in a related discipline with at least 18 graduate credit hours in economics, accounting, or marketing, is required. Preference will be given to those with a record of successful teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level. In addition, work experience within the field is also preferred, though not required.
- Candidates who are ABD or have earned an MBA should also apply.
Teaching and Relationships-
- Evidence of excellence in teaching, preferably at the community college or university level.
- Desire to develop professional relationships with students, where the faculty member is seen by all students as an instructor, mentor, and advisor.
Experience-
- Industry experience is preferred.

- An active and evident Christian faith and membership in a congregation is required. Membership in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod is preferred.
- Must be an extremely strong communicator with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Able to prioritize work with a strong sense of urgency to achieve goals, while having a high degree of self-sufficiency.
- Able to plan, develop, and implement effective strategies for engaging major gift donors.
- Able to represent Concordia University with a high degree of professionalism.
