Description of Job Duty:
POSITION DESCRIPTION: full-time, tenure-track position at the Assistant/Associate Professor rank starting in August 2027. Teaching responsibilities at the undergraduate and/or M.B.A. levels. All areas of interest will be considered.
THE COLLEGE: Serving 1,400 students, Tennessee Tech's College of Business holds AACSB accreditation and offers undergraduate degrees and majors in Economics, Finance, Marketing, Management, Decision Sciences, and Accounting. Beginning in Fall of 2027, the College of Business will house the Behavioral Research Lab, in which faculty and students can conduct and participate in laboratory experiments. The BS in Economics is a STEM-designated degree that focuses on the quantitative aspects of economics along with an emphasis in econometrics. The College also offers graduate degrees in Business (M.B.A.) and Accounting (MAcc), as well a range of minors and certificates.
THE UNIVERSITY: Serving around 10,700 students, Tennessee Technological University is located in Cookeville - one hour from Nashville and situated in the Upper Cumberland Region of Middle Tennessee.

Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Economics or equivalent from an accredited institution. A.B.D.s in advanced dissertation stages will also be considered, but the degree must be conferred by the start date (August 1, 2027). Candidates should demonstrate the potential for excellent teaching, research, and service to the university and profession. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to teach online and teach alternative delivery formats.
Preferred Qualifications:
Teaching experience at the principles and intermediate level. Candidates who are eager to develop and teach a senior-level elective in their area of expertise are welcomed. JOE Signals will be considered.
Essential Functions:
Tennessee Technological University and the College of Business emphasize quality teaching and mentoring. The standard teaching load is 9 credit hours (3 courses) per semester and courses may be taught in traditional, online, or hybrid formats. Research leading to refereed publications is required. Service to the university and the profession are expected.
