This position is in the Department of Teacher Education and Leadership within the College of Education, Humanities, and Behavioral Sciences invites applications for an Assistant/Associate of Instructional Leadership, with a specialization, either the higher education or K-20 levels. The rank and tenure-status of the position is negotiable based on qualifications. The position is a full-time (9-month) faculty position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Teaches graduate and undergraduate courses face-to-face and online environments. • Teaches graduate and undergraduate foundation courses, in both face-to-face and online environments. • Recruits and advises students. • Participates in research projects. • Participates in continuous program improvement as required by the Alabama State Department of Education and CAEPS. • Serves as a mentor to graduate and undergraduate students. • Conducts an active research/publication agenda. • Provides service to the university, community and profession. • Serves on doctoral committees and/or chairing doctoral dissertations. • Demonstrate teacher education competencies including those tied to creating constructive and coherent learning environments, modeling professional expectations, modeling high- quality practices, demonstrating a culture of feedback, and promoting principles of diversity, inclusion, equity, and social justice. • Performs other duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications
Minimum Position Requirements (including certifications, licenses, etc.): • Doctorate in Instructional Leadership or related field • At least three-to-five years of teaching experience in P-20 or post-secondary education
