Major/Essential Functions
Teaching and Instruction- Provides academic and clinical instruction within the School of Nursing.
- Teaches students in online, clinical, laboratory, and classroom settings.
- Plans, coordinates, and conducts online, classroom, and clinical experiences for students.
- Incorporates new knowledge and techniques in teaching.
Course Planning and Advising
- Assumes responsibility for and participates in planning and organizing assigned courses.
- Maintains academic standards set by the school and university.
- Provides academic advising and counseling to assigned students.
Scholarship and Research
- Conducts research or practice activities appropriate to rank.
- Participates in scholarly and academic activities appropriate to rank.
- Displays a scholarly orientation as defined in the Guidelines for Qualification of Faculty Appointment Rank.
Professional Service and Development
- Reports directly to the programmatic Department Chair.
- Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of school, program, course, and student activities.
- Participates in program, school, and university committees.
- Maintains membership in professional associations and serves on local or state committees.
- Plans professional development activities for self, such as continuing education and workshops.

Preferred Qualifications
- Doctorate in Nursing, from an accredited university.
- Expertise in the delivery of masters nursing education.
- Demonstrated success in faculty role as a distance educator and can provide instruction via a variety of instructional modalities.
- At least five years of faculty experience.
- Effective verbal/written communication skills.
- Interested in various strategies and concepts of distance education and willingness to implement professional trends and issues.

Required Qualifications
- Education: Master's degree in nursing from an accredited university.
- Experience: Minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience.
- Credentials: National certification as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM).
- Teaching: Demonstrated record of effectiveness.
- Research: Demonstrated potential for continuing growth in research, artistic, or creative initiatives.
- Service: Proven history of professional service appropriate to the academic and nursing disciplines.

Visa Information
TTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I-129 visa petitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required. On a limited, case-by-case basis, the institution may also sponsor eligible individuals for change-of-status or change-of-employer petitions for qualifying positions. TTUHSC will not pay the $100,000 fee, if applicable.
