NYIT's School of Health Professions, Department of Nursing is seeking faculty to fill a full-time tenure track position located at the Old Westbury campus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the day-to-day operations of the Department of Nursing.
• Participate, and demonstrate leadership, in the implementation, and evaluation of a competency-based curriculum and other nursing education program components.
• Assist students toward successful program completion.
• Participate in activities that promote the stature of the department.
• Develop and maintain ongoing relationships within the community, including fostering the nursing education program's responsiveness to community/employer needs.
• Ensures overall integrity/quality in the delivery of the nursing program.
• Ensure the curricular assessment data is used to recommend quality enhancements to teaching styles and curricular content specific to nursing.
• Identify factors in the nursing curriculum that warrant further evaluation and/or assessment using benchmark data.
• Enforce and monitor procedures and programs that demonstrate commitment to an inclusive environment within the Department of Nursing.

Qualifications

• Must hold a doctoral degree, Ph.D., Ed.D., or DNP
• Must have an established research agenda.
• Knowledge/practice experience of Medical/Surgical nursing, Pharmacology, and Foundations of nursing.
• Experience with simulation in nursing. Position will require the candidate to coordinate all simulation activities and work towards SSH's accreditation for Healthcare Simulation Programs.
• Experience with curriculum development.
• Experience writing NCLEX style questions.
• Hold a New York State unencumbered RN license.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience teaching at the collegiate level.
• Certified Nurse Educator certification a plus.
• Have knowledge of CCNE standards and essentials.
