Position Summary
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria seeks a Pediatric HematologistOncologist for a position as AssistantAssociate Professor of Pediatrics to enhance a growing division. The position includes care of inpatients and outpatients with a variety of pediatric hematologic and oncologic problems, including those followed at the OSF Childrens Hospital of Illinois Cancer and Blood disorder Institute.
Duties & Responsibilities
The position includes care of inpatients and outpatients with a variety of pediatric hematologic and oncologic problems, including those followed at the OSF Childrens Hospital of Illinois Cancer and Blood disorder Institute.
• Interest in pediatric leukemia and lymphoma is desired as one of the main roles is to assist in caring for patients with leukemia and lymphoma.
• See referral hematologyoncology consultations from throughout the Central Illinois Region.
Fully participate in teaching programs in hematology and oncology for undergraduate medical students and residents, and participate in the undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education programs of the Department.
• Organize and conduct bench and/or clinical research in the field of pediatric hematologyoncology.
• Participate in cooperative research efforts and clinical trials research protocols through St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee, and the Childrens Oncology Group (COG).
This clinic is both a St. Jude affiliate as well as an active COG site.
Perform other duties of a University faculty member, including committee assignments, curriculum development, student counseling, and administration as needed.
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
