GeneralDescription: WilliamWoodsUniversityisacceptingapplicationsforafull-time,tenure-trackfacultypositiontoteachexercisesciencetoundergraduatestudents.Thecontractedteachingloadis12hourspersemester,withtheopportunitytoteachadditionalcoursesasoverload.Full-timefacultyareexpectedtoparticipateinfacultyandcampuscommittees,attendfacultyassemblyandschoolmeetings,andconductprogramandclassassessmentsinaccordancewithstandardsdevelopedbytheUniversityandoutsideaccreditingentities.FacultyarealsoexpectedtodevelopeducationalprogramstobepresentedtothecampusatlargeaspartoftheUniversityLEADprogramandtoattendsuchprogramssponsoredbyotherfacultyintheUniversity.Rankandsalaryarecommensuratewithqualificationandexperience.
EssentialDutiesandResponsibilities: ·Teachlowerandupper-divisionundergraduateexercisesciencecourses. ·Assiststudentswithacademicadvising. ·Preparecoursesyllabiforassignedcoursesthatmeettheneedsofstudentsanduniversityrequirements. ·Participateinthedevelopmentofassessmentsandevaluationofcoursesandtheprogramforcontinuingimprovement. ·Maintainprofessionaldevelopmentaccordingtopersonalandprofessionalneed. ·Assistinrecruitmenteffortsfortheprogrambyparticipatinginuniversityrecruitmenteventsandcommunicatingwithinterestedstudents. ·Responsibleformaintainingrelationshipswithalumnioftheprogram.CollaborateincurriculumdesignandmaterialsdevelopmentfortheExerciseScienceprogram.Otherdutiesasassignedmayinclude,butarenotlimitedto: ·OtherdutiesassignedbytheDeanoftheCollegeofScienceandHealth. ·Dutiesaresubjecttochangebasedontheapplicantsskillsanddepartmentneeds.
PositionRequirements: Adoctoraldegreeinexercisescienceispreferred,however,anexperiencededucatorwithamaster'sorABDinexercisesciencewillalsobeconsidered. Abilitytoperformteaching,administrative,andclericaldutiesindependentlytofulfillgoalsandobjectivesoftheprogramwithintheoverallmissionofthedepartment,theCollegeofScienceandHealth,andtheUniversity. Teachingexperienceatahighereducationalinstitutionispreferred. Demonstratedcommitmenttoprofessionaldevelopment,strongworkethic,andacommitmenttoworkingwellwithothers.
WorkSchedule: Thisisafull-time,9-monthpositionbeginningAugust2026.Thispositionwillbeopenuntilfilled.
