    POSITION: Assistant Athletic Director - Lincolnton High School

    POSITION AVAILABLE: Immediately

    REPORTS TO: Principal, School Athletic Director and County Athletic Director

    SALARY/FLSA:

    • The School will be responsible for funding the supplement for assistant athletic director based on the applicant's category level in the LCS Assistant Athletic Director supplement schedule
    • Applicants must be able to handle the part-time assistant athletic director responsibilities while maintaining current assignments with the school.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS / DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Applicants must hold or be eligible to hold a North Carolina teaching license in appropriate licensure area.

    Preferred Experience:

    • Experience in organizing and operating all aspects of an athletic program is preferred.
    • Previous coaching experience as Head Varsity Coach.
    • Experience leading others, including supervising and collaborating with adults.
    • Experience managing or working with an (athletic program) budget.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Foster and promote a positive, student-centered culture throughout the athletic

    department that reflects the mission, vision, and values of Lincolnton High School Athletics.

    • Support the Athletic Director in developing and implementing initiatives that strengthen

    school spirit, sportsmanship, community engagement, and athletic excellence.

    • Assist in mentoring and supporting coaches by promoting professional growth,

    collaboration, and consistent expectations across all athletic programs.

    • Provide the principal with a complete annual inventory of all athletic equipment.

    • Oversee and implement coach evaluations as directed by the Athletic Director.

    • Assist the Athletic Director with parent meetings, coach meetings, and other athletic

    department functions as requested.

    • Ensure all athletic programs are treated equitably and advocate for the needs of every

    sport.

    • Provide opportunities for coaches to offer input regarding equipment, facilities,

    scheduling, and program needs.

    • Assist in developing, monitoring, and maintaining the athletic department budget and review athletic accounts with school administration as needed.

    • Help Supervise ticket sales and game-day financial operations for athletic contests.

    • Coordinate concession stand schedules by recruiting, organizing, and communicating with

    school organizations, booster clubs, and volunteers to ensure adequate staffing for all home

    events.

    • Assist in developing the master athletic schedule to maximize facility usage while

    ensuring equitable access for all programs.

    • Help Ensure equitable access to athletic facilities, including weight rooms, practice

    spaces, and competition venues.

    • Help Coordinate transportation needs, including scheduling activity buses and ensuring

    district expectations are met.

    • Help Coordinate athletic facility maintenance, repairs, and improvements with school and

    district maintenance personnel.

    • Monitor student-athlete eligibility and ensure compliance with NCHSAA, district, and

    school policies.

    • Promote strong relationships among coaches, student-athletes, parents, booster

    organizations, officials, and the community to create a positive athletic experience.

    • Represent the athletic department professionally at school and community events.

    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director or Principal.

    COACHING COURSES REQUIRED:

    All coaches (volunteer or paid) must complete the following courses through the National Fundamentals of High School (NFHS.com) before being approved to work with student athletes:

    • Fundamentals of Coaching (8 +/- hour) High School Coaches
    • Concussion Training (45 minute) - All Coaches
    • CPR Certification Required
    • Coaching Mental Health Wellness certificate required
    • Afterschool Security Certificate is required
