The Assistant Athletic Director for Communications serves as the strategic leader of Omaha Athletics' communications operation, overseeing storytelling, media relations, digital communications, and brand messaging while supporting the department's revenue generation initiatives.
This position leads the Communications team within Omaha Athletics' integrated External Units ("Pods"), partnering daily with Marketing, Ticketing, Development, Creative Services, Broadcast Production, and coaching staffs to execute coordinated campaigns that increase attendance, ticket sales, fan engagement, donor support, sponsorship value, and overall brand awareness.
The Assistant Athletic Director is responsible for departmental communications strategy, media relations, website oversight, statistical reporting, content planning, crisis communications, and the supervision and professional development of communications staff. This position establishes departmental standards, develops efficient workflows, and ensures communications efforts align with the strategic priorities of Omaha Athletics.
The position also serves as the primary communications contact for men's basketball, softball and men's soccer while providing leadership and vision for the Communications Department in support of the department's mission to grow the Omaha Athletics brand and deliver an exceptional fan experience.
