Description

Concordia University Irvine is seeking a dedicated and skilled Athletic Trainer to join its Sports Medicine Department. The Athletic Trainer will provide comprehensive healthcare services to collegiate student-athletes, including injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and return-to-play management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to accomplish each of the below duties satisfactorily:

  • Provide comprehensive athletic training services under the direction of the Team Physician and Sports Medicine leadership.
  • Provide medical coverage for assigned practices, competitions, events, and travel as needed.
  • Evaluate, treat, and rehabilitate athletic injuries, illnesses, and medical conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment, rehabilitation, and return-to-play/return-to-participation plans.
  • Assist with injury prevention programs, concussion management, and student-athlete wellness initiatives.
  • Maintain thorough, accurate, and confidential medical documentation in accordance with HIPAA, FERPA, NCAA, and institutional policies.
  • Communicate effectively with student-athletes, coaches, physicians, parents/guardians, and Sports Medicine staff regarding injury status, treatment plans, and participation recommendations.
  • Assist with the coordination and execution of pre-participation physical examinations, annual health screenings, and other medical clearance processes.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and review of Emergency Action Plans and emergency response procedures.
  • Support the daily operations of the Sports Medicine clinic, including scheduling, inventory management, equipment and supply needs, and other administrative responsibilities.
  • Educate student-athletes on injury prevention, rehabilitation, general wellness, nutrition, and appropriate mental health referral processes.
  • Collaborate with strength and conditioning staff and other campus partners to support student-athlete recovery, performance, and overall well-being.
  • Maintain professional certifications, pursue continuing education, and remain current with NCAA regulations and accepted best practices in sports medicine.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Sports Medicine Department and University Athletics.

Pay Range: $70,304 per year
