Position Overview

\n

Milken Community School is seeking a knowledgeable, motivated and enthusiastic Athletic Trainer to provide maternity leave coverage and support the Director of Sports Medicine. The duties of the Athletic Trainer include, but not limited to, prevention of athletic injuries, evaluation and immediate care of athletic injuries, rehabilitation of injuries, and health care administration.This is a full time temporary position from October 30, 2026 through March 12, 2027 (dates are subject to change), with responsibilities that include coverage of the Sports Medicine clinic during the school day, as well as athletic practices and competitions during afternoons, evenings and occasional weekends.

Key Responsibilities

  • \n
  • Provide onsite care and management of athletic injuries including prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation. 
  • \n
  • Assist with coverage of athletic team practices and competitions.
  • \n
  • Operate therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, e-stim, etc. 
  • \n
  • Maintain adequate medical records on all injuries and treatments. 
  • \n
  • Assist with injury prevention strategies, taping, bracing, and conditioning programs.
  • \n
  • Implement rehabilitation plans.
  • \n
  • Administer first aid and emergency care as needed. 
  • \n
  • Help maintain cleanliness, organization and daily operations of the Athletic Training Room. 
  • \n
  • Assist with injury reports to coaches, school personnel and parents on injuries and status of student-athletes.

Qualifications

\n
  • \n
  • Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) from National Athletic Training Association (NATA) BOC required.
  • \n
  • Experience as an Athletic Trainer at a high school setting is preferred. 
  • \n
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Athletic Training, Kinesiology or related field required. 
  • \n
  • Current First Aid/CPR/AED Certification.
  • \n
  • Strong interpersonal communication and human relation skills.
  • \n
  • Flexible and adaptive to schedule changes pertaining to athletic schedules. 
  • \n

Physical Requirements

\n

Ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. This includes the ability to carry, transport, and lift up to 50 pounds, and must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. 

\n

Work Environment

\n

Must be able to work within various degrees of noise, temperature and air quality. Work surfaces will vary from concrete to grass to hardwood floors. Job responsibilities require both inside and outside assignments. Interruptions of work are routine. Flexibility and patience are required. Must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignments without direct supervision. May include early morning, evening and weekend work. As well as make site visits, depending on the season/sport, as needed. Must be able to work under stressful conditions.

Standard On-Campus Hours:

\n

Monday - Friday 9:00AM - 6:00PM.

\n

Hours may vary based on athletic seasons and events; occasional Sundays, nights, weekends, and early mornings are required.

\n

*All schedules are subject to change.

\n

Salary Range: $6,000 - $7,000 per month.

\n
