The Assistant Athletic Trainer is responsible for the prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation of injuries sustained by student-athletes while participating in sports at Flagler College.
This is a 10-month position, paid over a 12-month period.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree.
- NATA Certification or equivalent.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree.
- Two years' experience in the collegiate athletics department.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Light work: exerting up to 15 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Frequent lifting and carrying, pushing, or pulling objects weighing 10 pounds or more; and/or continuous lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling 5-10 pounds.
- Climbing, balancing, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, repetitive motions, and ability to communicate appropriately with students/colleagues.
- Working early mornings, evenings, and weekends is required.
- Evaluate acute and chronic injuries.
- Provide daily treatment which may include emergency care, scheduling appointments, and referrals.
- Implement prevention and rehabilitation programs for athletes.
- Assist in maintaining detailed and current medical records.
- Attend all assigned team competitions and practices.
- Assist in directing the daily maintenance of athletic training facilities and equipment.
- Educate athletes on injury prevention, management and return to play.
- Assist in processing medical insurance claims and related information.
- Assist in the creation of emergency action plans and policies.
- Assist in inventory and purchasing of medical supplies.
- Serve as an approved clinical instructor and mentor undergraduate athletic training students.
- Assist in administering preseason concussion baseline testing.
- Assist in organizing weekly doctor's clinics and random drug testing procedures.
- Assist with the pre-participation screening and physicals.

- Adhere to the mission statements of Flagler College and the Department of Athletics.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
