**Job Description** **ICA Sports Medicine (or Athletic Training) has an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant Athletic Trainer to join their team.** **About this Opportunity** Reporting to Associate Athletic Trainer, the Assistant Athletic Trainer is responsible for administering comprehensive athletic training services to Intercollegiate Athletics teams, as assigned, at the University of Washington. Provide prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, counseling and education related to athletic injuries and illnesses as needed. Work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary high-performance team to provide elite healthcare within the holistic student-athlete experience. **Key Responsibilities** + Administering comprehensive athletic training services to Intercollegiate Athletics teams, as assigned, at the University of Washington. Provide prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, counseling and education related to athletic injuries and illnesses as needed. 60% + Assist with the coordination and scheduling of medical coverage for home and away practice and competition, training, and strength and conditioning sessions. Coordinate and schedule pre-participation exams and medical referrals to determine student-athlete readiness to participate. 10% + Work collaboratively with the team physicians and other allied health care professionals. Work with the strength and conditioning staff to ensure safety in the design and implementation of individualized programming. Evaluate and recommend new techniques and equipment that would benefit and improve the athletic training program. 10% + Ensure accurate and thorough record keeping and documentation. Assist with other athletic training and administrative duties as assigned. Adhere to and carry out established policies and procedures. 20% **Required Qualifications** To be considered for this opportunity your application must demonstrate you meet both the minimum qualifications and additional qualifications listed below. Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration. **Minimum Qualifications** **Applicants who do not meet these qualifications WILL NOT be forwarded to the Hiring Manager.** + Master's degree in athletic training or other sports medicine area of study required. + Must possess NATABOC certification + Current CPR and First Aid/AED certifications + Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as an Athletic Trainer in the state of Washington **Additional Qualifications** + Proficient in evidence-based medicine, medical documentation, emergency care, sport specific rehabilitation and injury prevention programs + Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with other intercollegiate athletic staff, coaches, and the local medical community + Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to work independently **Preferred Qualifications** + Candidates with 2 years or greater post-professional experience are preferred. **About the Team** Washington Athletics aims to inspire champions in competition and in the classroom.
