Pay Range: $20.00- $24.00

Sign-On Bonus: $1,500

SUMMARY

Bring your passion for great food, customer service, and teamwork to a leadership role in our Bakery Department.

As an Assistant Bakery Manager, you'll work alongside the Bakery Manager to support the day-to-day operation of the department. You'll help lead and develop the bakery team while maintaining high standards for product quality, freshness, merchandising, sanitation, and customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Support & Lead the Bakery Department

• Assist the Bakery Manager with the day-to-day operation of the department.
• Oversee department operations in the absence of the Bakery Manager.
• Assist with the training, development, and ongoing support of Bakery associates to meet company performance standards.
• Help provide direction to Bakery associates and support an efficient, team-focused work environment.
• Ensure Bakery associates follow company safety, sanitation, training, and operating policies and procedures.
• Consistently follow company 5S efficiency standards.
• Maintain a neat, clean, safe, and organized department and workstation.

Deliver Quality Bakery Products

• Assist with bakery operations, including product preparation, baking, merchandising, and final presentation.
• Inspect bakery products to ensure quality, freshness, and availability standards are maintained.
• Help maintain the appropriate product variety and presentation to meet customer needs and maximize sales opportunities.
• Follow established product preparation, baking, packaging, labeling, and presentation standards.
• Manage and fulfill customer special orders accurately and on time.
• Help ensure products are properly rotated and maintained according to freshness and quality standards.

Create a Great Customer Experience

• Provide fast, friendly, helpful, and efficient service to every Market 32/Price Chopper customer.
• Create a welcoming experience by smiling, making eye contact, and thanking customers after fulfilling their requests.
• Assist customers with bakery products, special orders, and product questions.
• Help ensure customer satisfaction through product availability, quality, exceptional service, and clean and sanitary conditions.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Bakery Department products and services to better assist customers.

Support Department Performance

• Assist the Bakery Manager in maintaining appropriate inventory levels in freezers, coolers, back rooms, supplies, and Deco Pac.
• Help monitor product levels to maintain availability while controlling excess inventory and shrink.
• Develop proficiency in the financial aspects of the Bakery Department, including paperwork, weekly shrink, transfer sales, and budgets.
• Control shrink by consistently following established policies and procedures.
• Support merchandising programs and ensure bakery displays are well-stocked, organized, and visually appealing.
• Help identify opportunities to improve department sales, efficiency, product presentation, and customer satisfaction.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and support others.
• Strong follow-through in achieving desired results and objectives

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High School Degree or equivalent.
• 6-12 months of related experience.
• Strong communication skills.
• Basic computer skills
