Our Assistant Bakery Managers work hand-in-hand with the Bakery Manager to create an environment where every pastry shines, every customer leaves happy, and every day feels like a celebration.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Assist the Bakery Manager in overseeing daily operations of the bakery department.
- Help lead and motivate the baking team to produce our signature gourmet items — from cookies and cakes to muffins, tarts, and special orders.
- Ensure top-notch customer service, whether in person, at the counter, or for online orders.
- Support the bakery team in maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation.
- Participate in hiring, training, and developing bakery staff with guidance from the Bakery Manager.
- Maintain quality and consistency during high-volume periods — especially the holidays!
- Ensure bakery displays are fully stocked, beautifully presented, and meet Uncle G’s standards.
- Resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally, turning challenges into positive experiences.
What You Bring to the Table
- High school diploma or equivalent (Pastry Chef training a plus!)
- 3+ years of bakery experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or management role
- Active food handler’s license
- Strong knowledge of bakery operations — including hiring, training, scheduling, and production
- Ability to work well under pressure, especially during busy holiday seasons
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-first mindset
- Fluent in English (reading, speaking, and understanding)

Working Conditions
This is an active role — you’ll be on your feet, moving throughout the bakery, bending, lifting (up to 30 lbs, sometimes more with help), and keeping up with the fast pace of a busy kitchen.
