SUMMARY:

Provides operational, sales, and service support of the member services, and lending areas of the credit union, including the development and implementation of procedures and process improvements. Responsible for researching and resolving internal and external areas for improvement and promotes advocacy by providing accurate and timely information. Fosters a culture that reinforces member service, teamwork and collaboration, financial discipline, operational integrity and efficiency.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must be able to process operational transactions including, but may not be limited to:
    •  deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and IRA distributions and contributions maintenance requests, verification of deposits and transaction posting for members
  • Ability to serve members and guide staff on the use of all channels of access including, but not limited to, all digital platform features such as mobile, on-line, in-person, chat, telephone, SMS text, etc.
  • Provide lending origination, processing, and servicing  support for all loan types including, but may not be limited to:
    • Acceptance of loan applications, including performing needs assessments with applicants
    • Use and understanding of loan origination systems, software, and processes
    • Use, understanding, and file maintenance of loan accounts on the servicing system
    • Perform collections activities
  • Consistently provides a high level of service for internal and external members, committed to achieving member satisfaction and excel in delivering results to achieve goals.
  • Demonstrates adherence to the organization standards while identifying areas of business process improvement,  in addition to managing initiatives to achieve improvements.
  • Assumes personal accountability and ownership for maintaining high service standards, promoting advocacy and ensuring member issues are handled expeditiously.
  • Must maintain accurate records, work with a high level of accuracy and be in adherence with legal and court mandated timelines.
  • Provides support, account review, and guidance to internal and external users of both membership and loan applications, to include an understanding of policies specific to Member Identification (KYC), Patriot Act, UDAAP requirements, Elder Abuse, e-Sign consent, and other compliance requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with security standards, policies and procedures, and risk management measures. Maintains confidentiality of Credit Union and member records while demonstrating high levels of integrity.
  • Protects the Credit Union’s financial interest by controlling and performing excellent due diligence by adhering to policies and procedures and maintaining all operations and compliance standards.
  • Assists all areas of the Credit Union with operational questions as it relates to all products and services including ability to research and problem solve.
  • Must be able to effectively and professionally communicate with members and team members via written and telephone communication.
  • Must also represent the department and the Credit Union at internal meetings and business community events in a professional manner.
  • Ensures individual appearance and demeanor reflects the desired level of professionalism as specified in the Employee Handbook and maintains the physical environment of his/her work area according to Credit Union standards.
  • Targets and achieves individual goals and supports department goals.
  • Participate in and/or attend various training courses and seminars to ensure that knowledge in operations, compliance and credit union trends are kept current.
  • Must be well organized with the ability to meet all deadlines and create informative and concise reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned and agreed upon.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Experience, Knowledge:

  • Requires bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 or more years of work experience in financial institution operations and compliance.
  • 2 or more years of supervisory or management experience
  • 2 or more years of financial product and services sales experience
  • Excellent member-service and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of financial operations, compliance, products and services.
  • Strong knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong mathematical and logic skills.
  • A positive, professional image and a high degree of confidentiality within the workplace.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • NMLS license preferred
  • Notary Public preferred

Special Requirements:

Language Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to author reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Fluent in the English language required. Additionally fluent in written and verbal Lithuanian, Latvian, and/or other Baltic country languages preferred.

 

Computer Skills

  • Level of computer skills needed to accomplish the essential duties of the job, including, but not limited to, core banking system software, computer software required such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Windows based spreadsheets/word processing, accounting software, ability to use various company software packages.

 

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs preferred.

 

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry-out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Analytical Skills

  • Ability to process and analyze vague, abstract verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to visualize and assess abstract ideas and develop structured plans for implementation of marketing plans.
  • Ability to read, analyze complex documents, and communicate analysis in oral and written form.

 

Equipment

  • Experience using the equipment required for the job.

 

No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions (such as in a typical office). May involve driving personal vehicle to credit union related events and appointments. Must have valid driving licenses and insurances. Mileage reimbursement paid by CLCU for credit union travel (other than commuting to/from CLCU).
