Get to Know This Role
The Assistant Brewer position is a critical contributor to the production processes throughout the brewing department. This role is responsible for a wide variety of duties in support of the Brewing Department production needs, including raw materials receiving, staging and handling, Cellar work, use of the automation and database systems for process and inventory control and adjustments using WMS system scanners, process component cleaning, area housekeeping, equipment maintenance, and other duties as assigned. All duties must be performed safely, and with high-level attention to detail in accordance to Sierra Nevada Brewing Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and best practices.

What You Will Do
Performs routine work for the brewhouse and cellar, including material receiving, inventory control, brewhouse and cellar hops preparation, basic equipment maintenance and cleaning, and material staging for brewing, cellar and filtration areas
Certified and proficient in utilizing inventory control software (Phoenix WMS and Switchboard) for material receiving, data entry and lot tracking for FIFO and traceability programs
Certified and proficient in operation of department counterbalance forklifts, narrow isle lift, squeeze clamp tool, torpedo clamp tool, cart caddy, drum lift, scissor or boom lift and forklift battery exchange.
Adjusts material and raw materials inventory, manages FIFO best practices and conducts cycle counts using Warehouse Management System (WMS) to improve inventory accuracy KPIs.
Use Brewmaxx (process automation system) for cellar process control
CIP/COP of tanks, lines, and hardware using automated & manual systems
Demonstrates safe work practices and contributes to mobile equipment safety program. Conducts thorough forklift inspections, escalates safety concerns, interacts with Mobile Equipment Specialist or Truck Shop to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues, reports property damage and demonstrates ownership until the problem is resolved.
Works cross-functionally across departments as needed, including but not limited to: Packaging, Quality, Brewery Support, Warehouse and Supply Chain.
Maintenance, rebuild of hardware and work order writing to address equipment and facilities issues; check out of parts from storeroom as needed
Trained in and participates in the company LOTOTO, Confined Space Entry and Confined Space Rescue programs.
Maintain an organized, sanitary, and safe work area in accordance with 5S principles and GMP; performs routine 5S audits and maintains ownership of at least one 5S area.
