Position Overview
The Treasurer"s Office is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Assistant Cashier/Teller to support property tax collection operations during the peak tax collection season. This seasonal position runs from mid-April through October and includes initial half-day training sessions followed by full-day employment during peak collection periods for approximately three weeks for each installment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive, process and post real estate and mobile home tax payments using the DEVNET system.
- Maintain accuracy and confidentiality when handling financial transactions and customer information.
- Balance and reconcile a cash drawer on a daily basis.
- Provide excellent customer service by answering telephone inquiries and assisting visitors.
- Perform general clerical and administrative support duties for the Treasurer, Chief Deputy Treasurer, and department staff.
- Assist with other office duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous cashier, teller, or cash-handling experience.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Dependable, trustworthy, and professional in handling financial transactions.
- Previous bank teller experience.
- Retail cash-handling experience.
- Customer service experience in a professional office setting.
- Strong mathematical and reconciliation skills.
- Ability to identify and correct errors quickly.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Spanish helpful, but not required.
