Assistant Catering Manager - Bench

The Assistant Catering Manager-Bench position offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated, detail-oriented, and highly organized individual who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. As a member of our Bench team, you will provide critical support to our catering operations by working in one of our high-volume Long Island stores where business needs are greatest. This role is designed for adaptable professionals who are comfortable working across multiple locations, ensuring operational consistency, exceptional customer service, and seamless event execution. We are seeking someone with a passion for hospitality and a genuine desire to continue developing their expertise in catering operations, event coordination, and client service. Flexibility is also important, as extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, may be required during peak seasons and special events.


Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service by taking catering orders in person and over the phone, ensuring accuracy and a positive experience

• Assist with event planning, including menu selection and customization

• Coordinate with external vendors for rentals, staffing, and additional event needs

• Process online orders and manage payment transactions

• Organize and oversee pick-up and delivery schedules

• Support the Catering Manager with administrative and clerical tasks

• Assist with in-store demonstrations and promotional events

• Participate in catering deliveries and on-site event support as needed

• Address customer inquiries and resolve concerns promptly and professionally

• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers

• Process weekly gratuities

• Perform additional duties as assigned


Key Functions

• Plan and execute events from start to finish based on client needs, audience, and objectives

• Develop creative ideas to enhance event success

• Source, negotiate, and manage vendor relationships

• Support promotional efforts for catering services and events

• Supervise event staff and ensure smooth operations

• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during events


Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required

• Previous experience as an Event Manager, Catering Manager, or Assistant Catering Manager within food and beverage

• Strong project management skills

• Familiarity with KPIs and marketing strategies related to event planning

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills

• Strong organizational abilities with effective problem-solving skills

• Outgoing, assertive, and a collaborative team player with leadership capabilities

Working Conditions
