Mercy High School, a Catholic, college-preparatory high school dedicated to empowering young women through faith, academic excellence, and leadership, seeks a passionate and collaborative Assistant Cheer Coach.
Assistant Cheer Coach Position Description
The Assistant Cheer Coach supports the head coach in maintaining a positive, disciplined, motivated, and successful cheer program by helping supervise athletes, assisting with team development, and ensuring smooth operations during practices, games, camps, and special events.
Primary Responsibilities include:
Chaperone and supervise all home and away games held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, ensuring athlete safety, appropriate conduct, and team organization during travel and events.
Cover additional games on an occasional basis when the head coach is ill or out of town, with those dates communicated in advance whenever possible.
Attend and assist with team supervision during UCA Camp in LaVista from July 8-11.
Attend and assist during the State Cheer competition on February 19-20, supporting supervision and event logistics.
Assist with fundraising efforts, including planning and organizing team fundraising activities.
Support team discipline by reinforcing program expectations, maintaining accountability, and assisting with behavior management at games when needed.
Help promote a positive team culture through encouragement, communication, and leadership.
Assist the head coach with additional duties necessary for the successful operation of the cheer program.
