Job Title: Assistant Cheer Coach (Middle/High School)
Reports To: Head Cheer Coach/Athletic Director / Building Principal
Location: Soap Lake School District
Job Type: Stipend Position Winter based on 225 hours (potential for extended season)
Position Overview:
The Head Cheer Coach is responsible for leading and managing the middle and high school cheerleading programs, promoting school spirit, sportsmanship, and team unity. The coach will plan and implement practices, supervise events, develop athletes' skills, and ensure a safe and positive environment that supports the academic and personal growth of all team members.
Responsibilities:
Ensure all routines and stunts follow WIAA and NFHS safety guidelines.
Qualifications:
Prior cheerleading coaching or participation experience (preferably at the middle/high school level).
Completion of all WIAA-required certifications, including:
Concussion recognition training
Sudden Cardiac Arrest training
WIAA Coaching Fundamentals (or equivalent)
Stunt Certification
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Commitment to supporting student growth both athletically and academically.
Must pass a background check and be approved by the district
This position is not benefit eligible unless 630 hours is anticipated/reached in the school year
